Signs of Heat in Male Siamese Cats

Male Siamese cats display several distinct behaviors when in heat. They may exhibit spraying behavior, where they stand with their tails raised and quivering, spraying urine onto vertical surfaces. This action is not about emptying the bladder but marking territory. Other signs include a swollen reproductive system, restlessness, and attempts to escape outdoors to find a mate. They may also become more vocal.
Neutering Information
  • It is advisable to neuter male cats around 6 – 8 months of age once they reach sexual maturity.
  • The procedure takes about 10 minutes and may or may not require hospitalization depending on the cat’s recovery.
  • Pre – surgery requirements include immunizing the cat and fasting for 8 hours and withholding water for 4 hours before the operation.
Neutering can help manage the behaviors associated with heat in male Siamese cats and has long – term health benefits. If you plan to neuter your cat, consult a veterinarian for detailed advice.
